Amazon Unveils Refreshed Fire TV Stick HD and New Ember Artline Smart TVs, Both Open for Preorder
Amazon took the wraps off two new additions to its Fire TV product ecosystem this Wednesday: the updated Fire TV Stick HD and its brand-new Ember Artline smart TV line, both of which are currently available for preorder globally.
It has been two years since Amazon launched the first-generation Fire TV Stick HD, and the latest iteration is now the company’s thinnest streaming device ever released. When the Fire TV Stick HD first launched in 2024, it served as a new entry-level option that replaced two older models: the original Fire TV Stick and the Fire TV Stick Lite. This move was designed to simplify Amazon’s streaming device lineup by consolidating two separate entry-level SKUs into one streamlined offering.
The 2026 refreshed model is roughly 30% slimmer than its predecessor, a design upgrade that appeals to shoppers who want a compact, portable streaming device that does not compromise on core performance. Beyond the slimmer profile, the new Fire TV Stick HD runs approximately 30% faster overall, cutting down wait times for app loading. It also comes equipped with upgraded connectivity: Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 for more reliable streaming and faster device pairing.
A headline feature of the new Fire TV Stick HD is built-in support for Alexa+, Amazon’s latest AI-powered voice assistant. For users based in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., the tool lets you pull up information about cast members, discover new shows to watch, and control connected smart home devices entirely via voice commands.
Amazon is also adding a new accessibility-focused setting called Adaptive Display to the HD model, built to make on-screen text, menus, and general navigation easier to see and navigate. The feature enlarges smaller interface elements like text and menu buttons while scaling background artwork proportionally to keep the interface visually balanced. Users can choose from multiple size options to customize their viewing experience, and Amazon confirms the feature will roll out globally in the coming months.
Priced at $34.99, the new Fire TV Stick HD is available for preorder now. Shipping is scheduled to begin April 29 for customers in Canada, Mexico, the U.S., the U.K., Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.

Alongside the updated streaming stick, Amazon has opened preorders for its Ember Artline smart TV lineup, a new product line built to compete directly with Samsung’s popular Frame TV series. First unveiled to the public at CES 2026, these new TVs place equal focus on seamless home aesthetic integration and core smart functionality.
One of the standout customizable features of the Ember Artline line is the option to choose from 10 different magnetic bezel frames that snap easily onto the TV’s edges. Available in a wide range of finishes including Walnut, Ash, Teak, Black Oak, Matte White, Midnight Blue, Fig, Pale Gold, Graphite, and Silver, the interchangeable frames make it simple to coordinate the TV with any existing home decor.
The Ember Artline also includes an exclusive AI feature called Match the Room, which helps users select digital artwork that complements the existing decor of the room the TV is installed in. Users get free access to a library of over 2,000 pre-loaded art pieces, and can connect their TV to their Amazon Photos account for an even broader selection of custom images and personal photos.
Just like the new Fire TV Stick HD, all Ember Artline TVs come with built-in Alexa+ support, enabling hands-free voice commands for content searches and playback control.
This month, Amazon is also rolling out a new convenience feature for U.S.-based Fire TV customers that simplifies moving content between multiple Fire TV devices. Users can simply ask the Alexa assistant to transfer a currently playing TV show or live sports game from one Fire TV device to another, eliminating the need to manually search for content a second time. The feature will launch first on Prime Video, with support for additional streaming services rolling out over time.
The Ember Artline TVs feature a slim 1.5-inch profile and a 4K QLED display with support for both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. They are offered in 55-inch and 65-inch size options, with pricing starting at $899.99. The new TV line is available for preorder now, with shipping beginning April 22 for customers in the U.S. and Canada, followed by rollout to the U.K. and Germany shortly after.
